I repetedly get calls from Steve Austin at this number.  I have told him that the person he is trying to reach does not live here.  I have asked him to remove me off the calling list and he refuses to do so.  He has also thretoned to call me every day untill I tell him where this person is.  I called back and asked him to let me speak with his supervisor and he refused.  I would like for them to stop calling me any suggestions?

If he keeps calling after you told him to stop calling, I suggest filing a complaint with your phone company, your local police, your state's attorney general and the Federal Trade Commission. You can get the contact info for your state's attorney general at www.naag.org and you file an FTC complaint at https://rn.ftc.gov/pls/dod/wsolcq$.startup?Z_ORG_CODE=PU01  By the way, Federal Debt Collection Practices Act forbids debt collectors from placing phone calls to consumers for the purpose of harassment. (And I'd bet it's not legally kosher for a debt collector to threaten to harass a consumer with phone calls.)

Based on the information you provided, I found a company called Credit Management Services, Inc. based in Nebraska that has an office near Kansas City, KS. (The phone number on your Caller ID was a Kansas City area code.)

Their website is www.credit-mgmt.com but it appears to have no contact information listed there. It only mentions its main operations in Nebraska and then operations in Iowa, South Dakota and Kansas. A WhoIs domain name shows that website is registered to:

I have received several calls from Steve.  I tell him that this is a business and that there is no one by the name he is looking for.  His calls have become progressively more belligerent.  The last call was the most shocking of all.  As usual, I told him there is no one by the name he is requesting and to please stop calling me.  He became irate and told me that he had been sleeping with my mother and was then going to sleep with my daughter.  He also then said that I was a homosexual that did not deserve to live.  Is this behavior over the phone legal?  What can I do?

This is the guy who calls and threatens old ladies who have 'acquired' an alleged debt thru the shady business practices of a 'For Profit' nursing home, who themselves have had several violations over the past several years. I'm not surprised, birds of a feather and so on. The fact that he does personally attack people verbally on the phone shows he's a telephone tough guy, a shell of a man with a serious inferiority complex who could only get a job in tele-collections! He is trying to collect the alleged debt from my mother and when that is not working he threatens her with reporting her to the mental health department? Then, after an impromptu number change, now he's calling me and telling me I need to get a job and quit being lazy when I've applied for disability after surgeries and numerous medical conditions. Tell ya what, ten years ago if he disrespected my parents and/or their memory the way he did, I would've personally given him the lessons he sorely needed from his neglectful parents about tact and courtesy. Nuf said!
