Called for someone named Jason Brown... Never heard of them or know anyone with that name. The DNC list would show I'm not this person. Seems to be another idiot debt collector calling numbers out of the blue trying to get anyone one dumb enough to pay someone else's debt. I've had my home number for 20+ years and get these calls from debt collectors looking for people that my wife or I have never heard of or know. They sell these bad debts over and over to other collection agencies knowing that the number they're calling isn't a valid contact number for the person they're looking for, but no one cares. It's all about profits! There needs to be something done about these unscrupulous business practices debt collection agencies are doing, they seem to have the same worthless excuses as the people they're looking for who don't pay their bills!
You tell them you're not the person they're looking for and have no knowledge of who this person is. Then they act like you're lying or promise to remove your number, but never do. They either continue to call or sell the debt to another collection agency with your number and it all starts over again.
One thing that never ceases to amaze me is that these debt collection agencies seem to not have enough common sense to think that the dead beats that they're looking for pay their home phone or cell phone bills and still have these numbers years later and don't care if they're calling dead numbers over and over again!
This is why I bought a call blocker unit for my home phone. I use a CPR V5000. Research the best solution to take control of your home phone and FIGHT BACK!

Got a threatening call from this number a few hours ago.  Left a message on my machine threatening legal action for a debt which was never identified.  Having a brother who worked for a debt collector, I am aware of how low these people will go to collect alleged debts that have either been paid off, written off by the original debtor, or are beyond the statute of limitations.  A debt collected thru a debt collector is pure PROFIT to the debt collector and it won't even be taken off your credit report.

These people are the same sort of scum as scammers and telemarketers and there is no law saying you have to talk to them.  You get a call or they leave you a threatening message, just IGNORE IT and NEVER return any call from them!

I don't owe anybody anything -  these people called by work and my landlord.  how are they getting these numbers and can they really do this.   I a shocked....  nothing on my credit rating with Transunion or Experian show any debts or collections.  how can I stop this.....
