Received a call from 910-706-8573 (Laurinburg, NC). Did not leave a message. I called back on a land line and a person answered in what sounded like a call canter, "Veteran's Awareness Center" and asked if my name was someone other than mine. I said yes in order to see what he wanted. He asked what my current mortgage rate was on my VA loan. I made up a number. He asked if I still lived at whatever address he mentioned and I asked how he knew that. He said that they get information to see if veterans are getting the most out of their loan benefits. I asked him if he was with the VA and he said they are a "third party affiliate" and want to help veterans. He asked how much I still owe on my home and gave me three price ranges. I told him if he was not with the VA, I am on the Do Not Call list and asked how he got my number. He hung up.
