It is NOT Verizon Wireless, and I just proved it. I just got the call (I never answer), then immediately checked my Verizon Wireless account; my bill was paid in full 9/13/10, and I do NOT owe any overdue balances.

This is a total scam. My answering machine records part of a recorded message to press '2' or something like that, then the call disconnects. The one time Verizon Wireless did call me about my bill, they left left a full, clear message in which they identified themselves.

Wake up, folks, it is NOT Verizon Wireless.

BTW, I wouldn't call back an unknown number. That's usually a trick they pull to reel you in, or even worse, it becomes a charge call.

Same here - called, no message left...

What is it that these companies with ZERO customer service (Verizon, in this case) think we're going to drop everything and return a call in order to listen to some automated P.O.S. computer message? If they don't have the time to put a living person on the phone to call... I damn sure don't have the time to play tag with their computer.

received 2 calls: first one they left no message.  I answered the second, and as soon as I did the person hung up.  I could hear a male voice talking to someone else when I answered.
Caller ID just provides Wilmington DE.

This number calls everyday at different times asking for a woman who has never lived in my home.  i tried contacting Verizon and have received ZERO help from them
