Another nasty scam caller that left a voice mail message stating that the US Treasury Dept. is coming after me for money owed...total BS of course. Number blocked.

Had a call from 908-488-0016 today. They actually left a message. Transcript folows:

This message is intended to contact you. My name is Steve Modern and I'm calling regarding an enforcement actions executed by U.S. Treasury intending your serious attention. Ignoring that will be an intentional second attempt to avoid initial appearance before a magistrate judge or a grand jury for a federal criminal offense. My number is 908-488-0016. I repeat 908-488-0016.I advise you to cooperate with us and help us to help you thank you.

Thanks for the link. I must get one of these calls once a month. Sometime they leave a message and this time they did. I reported the scam to the link. Probably a drop in the bucket, but it might at least stop these guys.

"My" (robo) caller identified himself as Kevin Mason. Ridiculous!! I know Kevin, and have never heard him speak with an accent I would associate with the Indian sub-continent. This is definitely some kind of scam!!!!!!!!

OK. Seriously, don't fall for it. If the IRS, or any other federal department has an issue with you, they will attempt to contact you, first, through the U.S. Postal System, most likely using certified and/or registered mail. This is the 9th, or 10th, time I have received a (robo) call from "Kevin Mason," using a variety of numbers on the CID. Just ring off, go about your affairs, and waste no time worrying about this codswollop.
