Got the same message yesterday too.
Since I am away on business I thought it might be true, and I was going to call Mastercard's number on the back of the card.
However decided to run the number on line to see if it was a "scam"

I didn't get a call, but two text messages from nonsense addresses (snqzm@ezcshap.com and srfdd@bjsplrq.com) within about five minutes, telling me to call this number. The first message was
"(MESSAGE:EAHU) Mastercard VCVE alert 148897. Please call (904) 688-0308." The second message was
"(MESSAGE:UFAY) Mastercard TFGD alert 854822. Please call (904) 688-0308."
Probably some kind of scam.

The second one was very similar.
I didn't call but my guess is they will ask for your credit card number.  :-)

got the same here, slightly different format. the original number called is from north jersey, but then they want you to call there, something to do with mastercard. this is in Kingston Ontario.
