foreigner called and asked if had been checked for cable tv service. i said i had not and i didn't like to be called out of the blue by anyone and don't call back.

They led me to believe that I was going to receive cable service from comcast, after giving her my social security number, she put me on hold and then the phone hung up

It would be advisable to place fraud alerts with the credit reporting agency's, SS, IRS & your bank. They may try to open accounts or other using your information.
