This has got to be one of the most pathetic telemarketer calls ever, but at least it wasn't a recorded message.
A few weeks ago I purchased a domain and there are people out there who harvest data from the domain registration WHOIS data, even though they are not supposed to be doing this. Unfortunately, GoDaddy seems to be their biggest target as most complaints I have seen about this goes back to domains registered through them. GoDaddy is not selling our data, they are just the biggest target.
Anyway - so today I get another telemarketer call on my cell phone, which is the number listed on the domain registration. Besides a heavy India accent asking about my domain and how he could build me a website it was actually hard to understand him because of the noisy kid and the screaming wife in the background. After several attempts in his marketing pitch I asked him if he was aware that my new website was created to help people enforce the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and bringing legal action against illegal telemarketers.
He started mumbling and then started yelling at his wife before he hung up on me. I tried calling back the number but it played a recording stating it was disconnected.
