The name of the company is Bridgewater Group and they harass you even when they're not calling the right number.  This group lists itself as "Independent Adjusters & Third Party Administration".   I finally called a lawyer to get the calls to stop because they are not calling for me and refused to take my number out of their database.  The guy today was actually pretty forthcoming with the name and he spelled out the name of the person he was looking for, but when I asked him if he was a debt collector he said he couldn't tell me unless I was the person he was calling.  Since I'm not, I couldn't say I was but then he backpedaled and said that my number was listed as a reference. What????  Anyway, I told him that I was passing this information to my lawyer so that I could be paid for them using my cell phone to harass me so I suspect that they will really remove my number finally.

Slim - You seem pretty knowledgeable about the law.  I know that if you get calls for others on your cell that you can get reimbursed.  I have received at least eight calls from the Bridgewater Group looking for a person named Cynthia Roth (that's not my name) and I've talked to a lawyer but they want more information (which I got today when they called AGAIN).  Do you know if I can file a claim without the use of a lawyer?  Obviously, I'd like to maximize the amount I try to get for the harassing calls but want to make sure that I go about it correctly.  Thank you!

No, not quite correct.
The Do Not Call list restrictions exempts debt collectors.
If you read

You will see the following statement:
"Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law."

So, report the calls to your Attorney General's office, and see what they say.
