...called cell phone. I had the blocking mode on but a woman left a message stating that the IRS had a lawsuit against me and I was to return the call. I heard about this scam on the local news network. The IRS will not contact anyone in this manner.

I got a call like this last year, they could not transfer me to a supervisor because there system didn't work that way: fraud.

I just got a call from this # too stating they're the IRS and saying there is a lawsuit against me. Sounds fishy cinsidering I have no overdue debts and pay all my taxes and then some... Anybody get scammed by this?

Computer female voice called and stated that I should call them back saying that the IRS has filed a lawsuit against me and that I should call back immediately with the pending lawsuit.
Scam to get your info and or to pay them I would assume.. Notice they never ask for you by your name because they are on a fishing mission.

I got a message stating I was being sued from the IRS.  Seeing as I've actually owed the IRS before, they send you mail first. I've never had a phone call.
