This call was taken by our Google Voice answering system.  There was silence for several seconds, the a woman's' voice saying Hello?  then more silence and a hang-up.

I called the number back and got a recording saying:  "because of a large number of calls from this number, your number has been blocked by our system.  It you want it unblocked, contact us at (877) 924-7249.  

I looked up the 877 number on 800notes, and reviews on this number indicate it is likely a solicitation from Birch Telecom.

Interesting approach... but sneaky and trashy.

Called twice- unsolicited.

This company has called us several times in the last week.  He wanted us to switch our service from AT&T to Birch Communications.  I told him we were on the "Do Not Call" registry, and he said it didn't matter, and continued with his spiel.  I again told him about the registry, and he said, "Fine, ma'am, we do not have to lower your bill," and he hung up.  Classy.
