You can report credit reporters who are being rude and stuff....and you (or the person they're looking for) may be able to sue them.

I successfully sued a collections guy who was rude, broke many laws, including speaking to my 16 year old daughter at the time, not to mention other individuals, who also continued to call me at work when I asked him not to (I tape recorded his voice mails).  Anyway I sued the company and was awarded $37,000 plus the debt written off.

Look in your phone book under Attorneys protecting consumers from collection harassment and abusive debt collection.

Good luck!

I just got a call from this number;first my cell was called then my home number.  It said Johnson, D on the caller id and the lady, with a very southern accent asked if I knew a Tyler Whitfield.  What worries me is my cell is from one state (had the same number for almost 14 years), but my home is from another state as we are military and I have never heard of this person she was asking for.

At 9:00 AM I got a call from 864-569-0719, "Johnson, D".  I said "Hello," and then repeated "Hello" about three more times. Then I heard a woman's voice say "Hello," for the first time. I responded, "Hello," and the woman said, "Oh, so you want to play the 'Hello' game?"  I shouted, "I like people who call me to say hello and identify themselves! "Who the hell are you?!" She said,"I'm not even going to continue... ...." At which point I slammed down the handset, cutting her off.

I Googled for "864-569-0719" and "Greenville, SC"  and "Johnson, D" and found a website that seemed to confirm that the phone was a "landline" and "residence" phone in Greeenville, SC, and offered to sell me "complete information." I chose not to pay. (Hey, maybe that's the racket! Call a lot of people and then, when they Google you, offer to sell them "information" about the phone number that called.)

What kind of creep makes a business plan based on calculated rudeness?

Just adding to my previous message. I note that some have suggested this number is associated with "CRA" and bill collecting. For your information, My wife and I are debt-free. We owe nothing to anyone. So, what is really going on here?
