I was told to dial this number when i recieved a call from 0000000000 on my cell phone. The message on my cell was a robotic recording stating this is the IRS. When I called the number back they stated they were Officers with the IRS in charge of criminal activity. The number is a Middletown CT number and there is NO IRS OFFICE IN MIDDLETOWN CT. When you ask them where they are located they claim Washington DC, ALL had a deep accent. None of them were able to provide a Government ID number or what ranking they have as government employees. On a positive note, it is fun to call and harass them back... they eventually start swearing and threatening to find you and hurt you..

The IRS will not call you. They send letters via US Mail. The IRS won't ask you to pay in i-Tunes cards. The IRS will not wish you "good luck as the situation unfolds". Trust yourself and your instincts - do not let a bully intimidate you by threats that are nothing but hot air (and bad breath). This is a SCAM.

Do not answer calls you don't know and never call them back.
