Portfolio Recovery has a long reputation of harassing people with calls about what they contend are debts that need to be repaid. They don't check databases or crosscheck against records to confirm this, and they don't seem to care that the numbers they are calling do not belong to whomever they think they want to reach. They just get a number and call it repeatedly seven days a week all year long, and until now they have use more than 30 different numbers to harass people. This one today is new. It makes nearly 40 numbers that I have seen them use over the course of three years. (Fortunately, the call-blocking service I use has intercepted every call, which amounts to well more than 2,000 calls in total.) Here are the other numbers Portfolio uses:

I just got a call on my work line from this number. No one has my internal work line. Do they just randomly dial numbers and see if someone will open up their wallet?

Keep getting calls for a person and debt not at our house

They keep calling asking forme but by my old married name that was 12 years ago. I think any debt that might be over 12 year old is not going to get paid either way, especially since I went bankrupt after that divorce,
