This is not the Internal Revenue Service because the call cannot be returned. Internal Revenue ALWAYS leaves a message and their calls can be returned. They are using the IRS acronym as a scam to get You to answer the phone.

This indeed was the IRS.  The IRS reported that I owed them more tax money.  I faxed them proof that I did not owe them what they contended that I owed.  I received a call from this number and the caller left a message in regards to my fax.

It is the IRS. They left a message. I called back using a different number and they confirmed that the call was from IRS.
