she said she was with a magazine company that my office subscribes to and they wanted to update our contact information....I said nothing's changed, so no need to update......silence....i hung up...never GIVE personal info. when people call to say they want updates..

One trick these "companies" use, when asking to update information, is to ask yes/no questions, like:
Is your address still 1234 Some Street?
If you say yes, they record that, then splice it into a different question, like:
Do you authorize us sending you magazine-X for $100 a month?
Then you get the bill.....
