These people called my neighbor's house asking questions about me.  They told my neighbor that I had applied for a job and used him as a reference.  I have not applied for a job and do not even know my neighbor's phone number.

Just like Jeff, they called two of my neighbors inquiring about me and stating also that I had placed a job application to do maintenance on rental properties.  I have not applied for a job and one of my neighbors didn't even know my last name.  Beware!!!!  I think they want you to inquire further about the ownership of this number via your credit card and obtain your number and your problems really begin.  Beware!!!!!

They called for a reference on my brother in law. They had both of our names plus his employement information. They said that they would let him know that I gave him a good reference. I called my husband and let him know so he called his brother. Guess what his brother did not apply for any job.

What type of scam is this?
