I got a call from this number today. A man asked for Ellen. I told him that it was a wrong number and he said "Well, maybe you can help me?" I told him I could not help him and he hung up. He sounded like a salesman.

Just got a call, he asked for my husband and when I said he was not available he said "maybe you can help me" and went into a conversation about asking for money.  As soon as I heard that I said "sorry we can't help you".  As I was speaking I realized that it was a recording.  The caller ID said BOE

Got a call just now from "BOE", let it go to voicemail and left no message. Glad I didn't answer since others are getting scam calls from this number. In my experience BOE usually stands for Board of Education. My guess is this name is spoofed to target households with children going to school, and there's a lot of those. Any legit organization will properly identify themselves on the caller id and most likely leave a voicemail if they really need to reach you.

Caller claimed he was from a police survivors charity organization. Asked if I was me> I said, "yes". > he began to go into a sales pitch but I believe it may have been a recording. I attempted to interupt a few times and then the pitch stopped in mid word > went silent > then a series of "can you hear me?" from the callers side. Possibly another attempt for a "yes" reply > then disconnection...

I really hope it wasn't one of those fishings for a "yes" reaponse. But it probably was.. Ugh!
