I GOT THIS MESSAGE BACK IN SEPTEMBER 2010. FIRST HIS NAME WAS SHAWN AND HE CALLED FROM NEW YORK. HE SAID I DID A PAYDAY LOAN AND NEVER PAID OFF. GOT NO LETTERS IN THE MAIL SAYING I OWE ANYTHING. ALL I GET IS PHONE CALLS. HOME AND AT WORK.

Hello! I just got almost the same call today. They tried to tell me that if I didn't pay them, I could owe up to $8,000 in court fees - and I think they got this information from another loan that I paid off. Did you ever get any further calls or letters or anything? I want to report this company to someone as this was extremely unnerving. I'd just be interested to know more about your call as it sounds just like the one I got.

I rcvd a phone call today from this number. The woman who talked to me said her name was "Chelsey Johnson" and she clearly had an accent - not sure from what region - maybe India.  They tried to tell me that I owed money from a quick cash loan taken from "Cash Advance" and if I didn't resolve this now, I'd be taken to court, and could owe up to $8000 in legal fees. When pressed, they told me the law firm was "Bahama Legal Group". the whole thing sounded fishy. Then, as I tried to get information, they said they couldn't give me any documents, or any information as they "didn't have it, only the creditor does". They also claimed to have called me all week which is a complete lie. After further talk, they told me they'd settle the whole thing for $900. I never got anything in the mail, etc. I want to report them to someone - any thoughts?

I keep getting calls at work from these scammers. I would like to know how to keep them from calling my work number.

Caller ID showed #206-445-6544 and number to call back #856-677-8927.  Left a message with my co-worker stating for me to call back a "Frank Williams" and it's in reference to Legal Dept and had a case # with it but not given.  Using *67 (block my number), I called back the 856-677-8927 number and spoke to a heavily accented woman. I didn't identify myself but inquired what company did I reach and she kept telling me she couldn't release that information as they leave messages for ppl to call them back.  Why doesn't this "so-called" business give callers their business name?!?  So, I GOOGLED the 856-677-8927 number and it bought me to a number of links for caller's harrassment.  So, I am providing to next person my story.  I informed my co-worker of this scam so next time, she'll have an idea on how to handle these type of calls more assertively.  This should really stop and its obvious a scam-type call for anyone to deal with.
