Got the text this morning.  looked up the number it is a unpublished land line number from Williamston, NJ.  I did some cross referencing and found an email address as well. oscar@ethii.com.  So I emailed it.  Mailer demon came back, it was an unknown email. Maybe some way to track that number though. the 1010100002 number.  I am going to continue digging and I will let you all know if I come up with something.

Got this too, googled the area code, was from jersey. Didnt make sense so i googled the number and found this.

I know it cant be legit, but how could it be a scam? What would they get out of me calling back the number? Or is it a way to cause inconvenience to the person who owns that number?

I forgot to add that I called the number that morning and got a voicemail from the person who owns it that said something along the lines of if you had received a text saying to call that number you didnt need to leave him a voicemail but if you knew him you could because his number had been sent out by a "hacker" and his phone provider was looking into the issue.

Same number, same message. Found this link, says it's a money scam.

I just got a call from this number, I did not pick up, he left message, he said his name was Ed Stevens, and asked me to call back. Within minutes he called my office and I picked it up, he said he was looking for my colleague (told me her name too). I don't know if it is scam or not but I will try to ask my colleague who is he and what kind of relationship do they have because all the posts are little scary in here .....
