got a call from that number they finally left a loud rude message about a sallie mae loan and left this #866-963-1599(sallie mae) i called it. which I do have a sallie mae loan and received an extension, but the person calling says this is a "private student loan" that my extension did not cover and they do not have options as sallie mae.  the account manager was "smart alex" a robert wolf, i asked to speak to his supervisor and he said he was the only person i could speak to.  i called back and got another manager who said the same thing.  so with this much information that would explain why these so called "salie mae collectors" do not leave a message.  the final threat from him was garnishment/collection agency....rude!  so do not become unemployed and expect to talk to these people...they do not reason nothing other than immediate payment, by the way my payment did not become deliquent until i became unemployed.

Got a call from the number around 5:30 central time. Didnt recognize the number. There was a voicemail but it was just people talking. Sounded like a call center. I know my boyfriend's brother got calls from Sallie Mae recently, so I think it might be a collection place. But if it is- I dont know why they're calling ME!

If they are harassing it is HIGHLY illegal. You should call him back and tell him you will send a check but can you get his name and address where to send it..once he gives you his REAL info you should then just call his manager. Some lady just sued a debt collector for millions and WON!
