We receive strange calls, at odd hours of the day and night - from this number. We believe that it is a telemarketing scheme of some sort. When we tracked the telephone number down through white pages reverse directory, we discovered that the number apparently belongs to an organization known as "WCA Subscription Service." When we check out the web page of this organization, we discovered the following statement:
"WCA operates the Special Offer Service, a unique subscription-based program that rewards consumers for consenting to receive recorded messages that include special product offers and purchase incentives. Subscribing consumers are automatically entered into a daily cash sweepstakes whenever they answer one of our calls and thousands of dollars have already been awarded. For more information about the SOS, please visit: www.specialofferservice.com
The SOS program was created in order to comply with state and federal regulations that govern the transmission of automated voice messages, and WCA is committed to making it a positive experience for all subscribers.
This website is intended as a resource for subscribers and non-subscribers alike to learn more about WCA and its policies, and the steps they can take to protect themselves from unscrupulous telemarketers, and to secure their privacy online. "
Since we NEVER contacted anyone of the sort nor did we EVER "volunteer" to have strange people call us all the time, we believe this must be some sort of scam. Fortunately, ALL of our telephones have been registered with the official DO NOT CALL Registry and we HAVE filed complaints about the calls which we continue to receive from this organization. We urge everyone else here to follow the SAME court of action!!
