Got a call today 7/24/2017 says POL OFFICER on caller ID. Came from 531-201-1327. How should I find out if it's a spoofing caller or a legit caller without calling it back?

Caller in behalf of police officer for donation. When asked the name of his company he hung up. 100% a scam.
