this was a text claiming that my Citibank ATM card is deactivated which went to a cell phone not even pegged to the ATM or bank account.

I got the same text. Called the number from a friends phone and it said number disconnected. Called from my phone and it is a recording asking for the card number. It's a scam. When the phone number is answered you can hear someone saying hello before it is cut off.

Received text stating
"Citi BANK ALERT: Your ATM/CARD had been DEACTIVATED. Please call the 24 hour Citi Credit Card Accounts Line (847) 217-2737".
It's some sort of scam
