I received a voicemail from the number above.  Googled it.  Found this site. Called UPS directly.  I did have a past due balance of about $90 over 6 months.  I'm not a very active shipper.  I called UPS and I cleared it up directly with the UPS Billing Center.  (I'm not interested to give credit card info a 3rd party.)  UPS was very understanding, courteous and happy to activate the account. I called Central Resource - told them I cleared the payment directly with UPS.  The lady made a note and said it should clear me out of their system in 3-4 days.

They call me two time from 1-555-555-5555 behalf of UPS, leave a message try to collect UPS debit, and ask me call back 843 746 2171. It surprise me, be cause UPS collected my money from my credit card. I think it is a scam.

Got the same call from 555-555-5555 (Central Resource Group) concerning a UPS debt of $27.18 asking for a return call to 843-746-2171.  I do not have a UPS account.

I reported this number and the situation to the South Carolina Attorney General. They replied that they are forwarding my email to the South Carolina Department of Consumer Affairs which does investigate possible scams. If you agree that you are suspicious that the phone number and/or Central Resource Group is operating a scam or other suspicious activity, then please contact the SC Dept of Consumer Affairs to let them know that you too are being harassed.

I received a call from them as well. THen turned around and call ups to get tracking number. When talking to UPS, they said the account number that is associated with my name was closed as of today. I asked for the tracking number and when I tracked it, 2 entries one where is was refused, in California and 1 where it was delivered to Kansas. It doesn't show it going through any UPS facility or anything. I track things all the time for work and never had so little info being shown. I asked who it was sent to or where it originated from and UPS couldn't give me any other info other than, that account number went to collections and he couldn't hep me. He did give me the last 4 numbers of the credit card that was used and declined. which didn't match any of mine. Everything looks odd, especially when he went in the system to look at the original invoice and he couldn't find it.  Now I am worried about my credit. I asked for proof that this is my debt and they said that they will get it to me. This really doesn't look right.

Turns out after more research and calling that UPS made a mistake when charging back a failed delivery. The account number associated with my name was 1 number off from the senders number. The extremely nice person I spoke to at UPS is looking into getting the charge removed from my account and is even calling the person from Central to let them know what is going on so that they don't call me any more.
