answered...dead air then...mechanical beep and buzz...then they disconnected.  They are now blocked.

telemarketer scam.  trying to get personal information.

I get these calls all the time, it appears that our Number is part of a list of numbers that are going around to all these Telemarketing companies.  I answered it because I get business calls from the 818 area code.  Whoever is calling is vetting my number to see if it still works, so to sell it to another Telemarketing company.
