Partial robo message left on voicemail: "...any questions or would like to speak with our pharmacist, please call 818-713-8014. If you've already picked up your prescription, please disregard this message." This message was left on my late parents' phone number, & no meds had been ordered. This sounds like a scam that targets seniors.

In fairness, major chain pharmacies have been previously found setting their notification autodialers upon the wrong persons. Sometimes it's an honest mistake, other times it's covert advertising which potentially breaks the TCPA.

In a broad search this number consistently points to a Ralph's Pharmacy in Canoga Park, CA. Seems to me they'd want to know if their scrip notice system went buggy.

Skepticism can afford few boundaries in the current climate of cheap VOIP, cheap foreign labor, and easily fudged Caller ID. If you told me next week that some creeps in Belize or Gujarat Province had jacked a real pharmacy phone number and faked its own "ready prescription" notice -- just to get closer to seniors and push yet more unwanted back braces, glucose meters, bogus gift cards, and whatever -- the "surprise" department of my brain would not muster a flicker of voltage.
