Just got a call from this number asking to speak with my wife's x-husband of 20 years???  When I told her the person she was asking for was my wife's x-husband, the woman said, "Oh - I'm sorry.  I had this number as a contact number.  I'll remove it from the list."  Weird!!

Got a call from 815-380-9521 at my place of work. This is the 2nd time a Jewel or Judy has called. My boss was here today and she asked to speak to him. I asked who was calling and was told Jewel. "and you are with...........? She said what I think was Verifax or Verifacts....not sure which one she was from but wanted to verify I worked here, full or part time and then asked the last 4 numbers of my social! My boss told her I dont know who you are and am not giving out that information. Quite frankly Im surprised he stayed on the phone as long as he did, however if she is being honest, the call was from Verifax OR Verifacts.

They called my office today and asked for me.  She wanted me to verify my home address (they had it wrong) but I didn't verify anything.  I asked why she was verifying this information and she said that they update files for banks, etc..  I asked her what company was asking her to verify my information and she told me that she could tell me if I verified the information first.  I told her that I wasn't comfortable providing any information unless she could tell me what it is for and she said ok and hung up.

I'm sure it is a debt collector, but I thought that they had to tell you that they were attempting to collect a debt. I thought that was a law or something?
