I received a txt from this # wanting to buy my car off Craigslist.  It must be a scam because they want to use PayPal and provide their own shipping to an address other than the one the PayPal account is listed to.

Same issue as above.  Trying to buy my boat off of craigslist.  No negotiation on pricing, but wants to use paypal and have boat shipped.  Scam

Feb 13 ,2014 this person txt me aboutmy sofa on craigs list. They wanted my paypal info. Even told me how safe and secure it is..after i already told them cash only.

Excellent post. Kijiji & Craigslist are NOT eBay. There is no reason to take Paypal. Not what they were set up for. They're for local sales + CASH. A person in Boston shouldn't have to buy a dining room set from San Jose. Should raise the red flag right away. Plus, who buys 2nd hand anything without looking at it?

feb 17 same issue. wanted to buy my car and have it shipped. wanted to send cashiers check for more than price of car. first clue.
suggested paypal instead, he agreed said money had been sent I should check my email.  got 2 emails verifying money had been sent but paypal showed nothing.  emails said I wouldn't get money til I western unioned $1,000 to transport company.
