It is Capital One. If you have an account with them, you'd better answer this call. Why? If you don't, they will call anyone with a similar last name - parents, siblings, in-laws, etc. Why do they do this? They will claim they can't find you and needed to locate you. They will do this even if you have spoken to them on the phone, sent them letters, and/or even contacted them by e-mail!! They will tell these people that you gave them their phone numbers and/or address to contact you there - in short, they will lie like the devil. When you confront them about it, they will deny they did this - even if your relative has the call recorded!!
Don't take it. Tell them not to call those other numbers. Then put it in writing - and demand that they stop calling you. Keep all communications in writing. If they persist, file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) on the FTC website.
