This number showed up on my Caller ID on 3/28/2012 at 9:25 am as "OPERATIONLOOKOU". Whitepages.com says the number is to a mobile phone in Utah County, the Provo-Orem metro area. I just called this number. A recorded voice answered and said this was the phone number for "Operation Lookout" and that if I wanted to have my phone number placed on their "Do Not Call" list, to press the number "1" on my phone. That's what I did, and a recorded voice said that I was now on their "do not call" list. Another phone call reporting site said this phone number is associated with the "Fraternal Order of Police".

I got a call from this number and a woman asked for my ex who has not lived here for 4 years.  When I told her this, there was a long pause and then she said "sorry for the call" and hung up.  Strange!  Caller ID said "OPERATION LOOKOUT" which I googled and found it is a nonprofit organization to help find missing children or exploited children who have misused the internet and hooked up with a sexual predator.  My ex is a sexual predator!

The Call Center associated with the phone numbers listed dials for several nonprofit charities. It is Corporations for Character based in Utah.

OPERATION LOOKOUT has served families with missing children since 1984, always free of charge because of the support of the public. We do not have any direct connection or service provided for sexual predators as noted here.  We apologize for the hang up call.  A live person at the other end likely was caught off guard not knowing how to respond.
