Because we were expecting another caller, we inadvertently answered this call. BOTH ID and telephone # read "8016959681".

Hispanic male seemed surprised to get answer. Said, "Uh, hi! This is Joe."

I asked, "Joe WHO?"

The phone clicked once and the line appeared deathly still, then it clicked again and he was back. Unknown if heard my question or not, but it went ignored.

He continued, "I understand you recently called about not getting your Social Security funds, is that right?"

I remained silent.

"Joe" stammered, "Hello? Hello? Are you there?"

I hung up after reporting him / the phone # to local police and blocking the number.

A quick Google search yielded the following info about this landline:
Owner:    Salvador Garcia
Address:  Ridgeview Drive, Roy, UT
Landline: 801-695-9681

This 801-695-9 is part of a block of numbers in the Roy area that are all involved in scamming by phone. Beware. Don't converse, don't answer; stay safe.

Got a call. Recognized it as local but if they are not in my contact list I let it go to VM. Left no message. Checked this site and saw it is a scam. Do not answer and block.

Number keeps calling but didn't answer since I did not recognize it. Googled the number and see it's on several sites as a scammer -- do not answer and block it. Consider it done!

Got this same call. . .  Dead air, then "Hello, are you there". . .Will put on Auto Reject.

I wasn't able to answer and never called back, but don't answer
