Got a call from 801-555-1212 here at a Fire Station. A guy on the other end said, "Is the Chief in?". I said, "he is out of the Station, can I help you or have the Chief return your call?". He says, "What's his cell phone number?" (like I just hand that out to everyone I talk to that calls from an 800#). I said, "excuse me?", not sure I understood his meaning. He says, "WHAT.. IS.. HIS.. CELL.. PHONE.. NUM.. BER..?) I said, "I'm sorry, I can't give that number out, can I have him return your call?", (we are supposed to be polite here at the fire station.. grr). He just hung up. I REALLY wanted to talk to him again, however the reverse directory comes up as "Qwest Directory Assistance". I wouldn't answer this #, this person is clearly a salesperson who's dealings require that his caller ID not be traceable back to him.

Just received a call from 801-555-1212. I answered the call appropriately and the guy on the other end asked to speak to the fire chief. I advised that the chief was out of the office in a meeting. The guy just hung up without an oppotunity to get a contact name or number for follow-up.

well the number it a utah area code and it is also posted on this site that people are geting a class 10 virse just to inform all of u.

Just received a call from 801-555-1212.  I was suspicious and just answered "Hello", the caller said "Who's this?" and I replied "Who is this?" and he hung up.

Just received my comcast bill and had a charge for operator services for the above # and the local fire dept. The funny thing is on the date the charges are for the police dept came to my home because they had rec'd an emergency hang up call from my home phone which I never placed and now this charge for operator service appears on my phone bill for the same date which I also never placed. How does something like this happen?
