I cancelled my Comcast service a few months back due to me losing my job and their ever changing prices. I began receiving text messages from a 878-787 number saying that I should call them at 866-994-5617 for pickup of my equipment. I called and scheduled a pickup date with them but something just didn't sit right with me about another company "speaking on behalf of comcast." I then called Comcast and the representative wasn't of much help. Go figure. I explained the situation, she went on to say they were no free pick ups in my area and that if I wanted to return the boxes I should go to a ups store and tell them to return the equipment to comcast?! Huh?! I then asked her for the nearest comcast service center to return the equipment there instead. She advised me it would be ok to allow this third party company to pick up the equipment but after reading this thread and others I think I'm better off dropping it off to the service center myself. When they show up to my house I won't be answering. I miss having cable but boy am I so over comcast!

The call only shows (801) 335-4527. I get calls daily from this number, they claim to lower my cc interest and I need to take advantage of it as soon as possible. They they have been trying to call me etc. I cannot believe this company can continue to bother people that are on the DO NOT CALL LIST, that should tell you something about this company. DO NOT ANSWER their calls. Click IGNORE :)
BEWARE of this scam!

It tells me that they are the same long time scammers and could care less about any no call list.

I received this same call only from OH, 740-655-4760. When I pressed "1" my call went to hold and then a person got on the line saying I'd reached card services. When I asked what card company they were with, they disconnect the call.
I'm on the "no call list" how can this company continue to call?

I *just* received a call from this number.  They were Claiming to be Comcast representatives, and that I owed $40 for non-returned equipment.  I think they were just pulling that out, but they got lucky as I did return some equipment to Comcast last year.  She went on about how I was going to go to collections, and that Comcast would get their money, and I said I'll see her in court, and she has no legal recourse to collect.

Further more, I started thinking it was odd that I was being collected on something so long ago, and I realized I hadn't received any letter in writing that I was delinquent, and for that matter, Comcast (which is actually now branded as Xfinity, would have automatically debited my account a long time ago if I was delinquent.

I told the woman on the phone, "I'm not giving you anything.  I don't know who you are, if you're a scammer or 3rd party hired by Comcast, but until I get something in writing from Comcast, I'm not sending anything"  She immediately hung up on me...

Then I get on Google and search the phone number, and sure enough, land here...  (You'd think if they were going to scam, they'd at least block their number)

I just received a call from 801-335-4527 on my cell. It showed as a Bountiful, Utah, number. The woman claimed there was an unpaid balance of $242 for unreturned equipment from Comcast. She gave me an address I have never lived at (in fact, never even lived in the city). I told her she had the wrong person. She started on about how this bill needed to be paid or it would impact on my credit report. I told her I did not owe this money, and the problem was on her end. I hung up. She was very smooth, and try to get additional information from me, such as what cable TV service I currently have. Of course, I told her nothing. I doubt I will hear from her again. I think she was going for easy money, hoping someone would drop a check in the mail.
