They said they were from Marriott calling with a promotion for discounts on vacation packages if I registered now. But I had to give credit card info out over the phone to do so. (I didn't.) When I said I can't afford their packages, the first speaker said she could have someone help me with that. She took about 2 seconds and another speaker came on. She just handed the phone to him, instead of transferring the call. In the beginning, I decided to listen because it said it was for a FREE stay (sometimes these actually are legit). I kept saying I can't afford the packages but he said I do need a financial commitment. Has very insistent and kinda rude. When I told him I still can't pay the final price, he said "you know that's affordable for you, ma'am." I said, "It's not" and he just hung up. There was a lot of background noise the whole time and the number looks like a cell phone number. Maybe people doing a promotion for Marriott would be insistent but I don't think they'd be that unprofessional if they really wanted business, like they said. It's all suspicious. I called the number back and someone different answered, saying he never called. I've been getting calls from similar numbers but usually miss them. When I call back, the person who answers says they did not call.
