Called me. A man asked if I could  here him. I said  yes. He hangs up. I call back twice. They hang up on me both times.

did not recognize number or area code-I did not answer- they left no message. going on phone block !!!

Call from this number, picked up- no one there- called back 2 times and just silence both times...SPAM

Received a call from this number, claiming to be Michael Rivers from Microsoft, and that my PC is slow. My mother answered and called him a scam artist (this is a Mac house; the only PC belonged to my late father- an IRS agent). "Mike" started screaming at her to shut up.

I used to get calls like this in the 90's, but the guy would ask "Can you hear me? Have you seen my Hot Air Balloon?". Maybe it's the same guy.
