Called asking for the Mr/Mrs by my fiancee's last name.  I said she wasn't here, they said they would call back.  Didn't ID themselves; when I tried to call back on the number that showed up on my caller ID 781-656-0232 got the 'out of service' message.

Rec'd call from this number just now; when I answered no one was there.  Showed up as "unknown" on caller ID.

"Veterans" fund raising scam calls. Said they were from our Town. No way! Reported to police and Veterans agent.

Alert Message has been issued by the Abington Police Department.
Veterans SCAM is gaining momentum in Abington, please beware of all attempts to solicit money for Abington veterans. We have just been informed of a scam surfacing in our town. Several residents have been called by someone identifying themselves as a veterans group that is raising money to send care packages to Abington service men and woman overseas.

This group has not been identified and we suspect that it is a scam. The group even offers to have someone come to your house to pick up the money!
Please be cautious anytime you donate money, but especially when dealing with a group promoting that they are delivering care packages to Abington servicemen and woman. As many of you know, our own Veteran’s Agent, Joe Colantoni, has organized this type of outreach to our troops in the past and he kindly asks that you please call him to verify the legitimacy of all groups who offer to help veterans.
