It doesn't look as though anyone answered your question yet, although you might have figured it out by now. Yes, what they're saying is they see their own phone number and/or name on the caller ID when the call comes in.

It just shows how the information on caller IDs can be easily faked. Seeing one's own name is a near-sure way to get someone to answer the phone. Scammers count on that.

After you've been "around the track" a few times here on 800notes, you'll realize it's a scam and ignore it immediately.
