I was left a message about a case that is going to Providence district court. The person they named has been unable to be located so a sheriff would be showing up at their residence. The person they were looking for was not me so I called this number back and it just rang and rang with no answer. I then called the number left on the voicemail and I got the Providence court legal department. I gave them the case number and let them know the person they are looking for is not me. They apologized for the inconvenience and told me they would be taking my number off the file.

Kay ... May I call you Kay? Nothing in your vague and goofy story resembles how civil cases are prosecuted in Little Rhody or, to my reckoning, any other state. You and I both know you're trying hard not to reveal the nature of said "case" because your whole premise would be stripped and gutted within an hour.

I do want to thank you for saving me that trouble by trying to convince us of the existence of a "Providence court legal department". See, the lower District Courts there are not given place names but division numbers. They cover several towns apiece within their respective counties. I got the relevant Judiciary web page in front of me right now. Would you like to find the "Legal Department" of a particular court for us? Go fish!
