Caller ID is "V" followed by 19 digits. They leave no message.
I call back after hours (using *67 to block my number). There is about 90 seconds of silence followed by the following message, "hello, and thank you for your call. We're sorry that no one is currently available to speak with you at this time. We are assisting other patrons, away from our desk, or we may be currently closed. If you would like to try again at another time, our offices are open Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 9 PM eastern standard time. Our weekend hours are Saturday 9 AM to 9 PM and Sunday 11 AM to 7 PM. At certain times of the year we may remain open until 11 PM eastern standard time. To speak directly to a customer service representative, please, call back during these times. Your call is very important to us. In order to help us serve you better, we greatly appreciate any feedback you can provide. If you're calling to request that you be placed on our Do-Not-Call list, please, take a moment to leave a detailed message along with your name, complete address and phone number with area code. Thank you very much. Please, leave your message after the tone. When done, hang up or press the pound key." (I never place my name on the DNC list as it can actually make things worse).
I call back later to double check the message. The message is the same, but there is no opening delay. Hmmm.
So they spoof their caller ID, and they fail to identify themselves on their outgoing message. Smells like a SCAM.
I received a call with an identical message a while back from 508 556 8866. That one was for the "Firefighter's Support Foundation". Charity Navigator has no charity with that name. I googled the name and found an emergency management group that works with firefighters that has this name; but they are not a charity.
