This is one of United Healthcare's many phone numbers. If you have United Healthcare, then it's not a scam call. I have UHC, so they were calling me regarding a prescription issue I've been dealing with for the last 3 weeks. If you don't have United Healthcare and you're receiving calls from them, then I suppose it would be a scam in your case.

They called me at 6:19 Monday night as "Minnesota". I picked up and waited, no one spoke. I said "hello" twice, no response. I hung up. Yes, United Healthcare is always doing things like this. The calls are annoying and often invasive. I have a wonderful app on my Android called "Blocker 7.2" and once these calls come twice with no speech, I block the call. cell phone does not ring, picks up and drops call immediately so they cannot leave a message and blocks text messages. It does have a log but does not retain messages. Looking through my logs, I have quite a few blocked UHC numbers.

The invasive part is where they hound you to allow a "home visit" from UHC. Why? I did not ask for one and this agent is not going to give me a sponge bath, change a bandage, or clean the refrigerator. They are coming to "snoop" and go back to report anything that may contribute to poor health, pre-existing condition, or risky behavior. They find ashtrays and cigarette butts, evidence of risky activity like drug use or homosexuality (AIDS?), unsanitary conditions, ANYTHING they can use against you. They called and scheduled me for a "Diabetic Retinopathy Myopia Exam" and I am thinking, "Great, I get an eye exam so now maybe I can get *real* reading glasses instead of the dollar store kind. Nothing of the sort. The "doctor" was an eyeglasses store in a strip mall over 20 miles away. I got drops to enlarge my pupils, got puffs of air shot into my eyes, read an eye chart, and the doctor examined my retinas for detachment or other potential issues. He would NOT give me test results, said United Health Care paid for it, they get the results, not you. I didn't get anything out of it but nearly 2 hours wasted time in hot traffic and used up gas. They use these deceptive practices to get you to cooperate in allowing them to invade your privacy and look for ways to dampen or deny insurance. These calls I always block as they have plenty of genuine customer service phone lines. Block these calls if you can, they get annoying REAL FAST.

Quote from another annoyed insured by this number:
"This is United Healthcare, AARP's RIPOFF healthcare insurance co. for Medicare Supplements & advantage plans. I called them back & got a holding pattern in their queue. They asked me if I wanted to take a survey after completing the call, & I said yes,  then hung up before they could connect me to an agent. I already have coverage with another company.

I just received a call from someone claiming to be from UHC. I was asked to go in to take advantage of the free annuall wellness  check up. The provider they requested for me ( a doctor) that didn't have decency to even look at me nor treat me.
After getting my initial vitals checked, a nurse practishner prescribed me medicine cream that was not even tested for lower back and hip pain as written on the box. Severe side affects " fatal heart failure" So I feel like a gunie pig. Then she sent me to a pain management doctor for left  lower back pain.
I could not understand the Indian doctors English speaking ability. I became very anxious not knowing. Even the assistant nurse had trouble translating what he was saying.
Then they scheduled for me for an injection.
When I was laying on the table, I could hear them which injections to give me.
From what I gathered from the Indian doctor, I was only getting one injection to kill the pain.
Well, they gave me 6 painful injections by an Indian doctor that could not speak good English either. Soon after the injections were done I felt as though my body went into shock.
My blood pressure dropped very low.
The practishning nurse asked me if I had sugar diebeties? I said shouldn't you know my medical history?
I am not happy and don't trust the medical care that I  am receiving.
And this is a short version of all the medical malpractices I've received.

The caller said she was with UHC and wanted to know if I had any questions about my health care or prescription plan. Then she asked for my ID number. The thing is I've received messages from UHC where they wanted to talk to me or my wife. These calls always asked for one of us BY NAME and called during the day. This recent call at 8pm EST raised my suspicions. I told the caller I was not comfortable talking about my coverages with her she said thank you and ended the call.

I have united health care. Everything is in writing first. This has called me before. They kept telling me to go to work force services where welfare is. United healthcare has nothing to do with welfare
