No ID, no message.

No name under caller ID but number. Left no message. Called back. Busy line. I guess it is our favorite scammers in the midst.

Answered as looked like a similar business number.  Local police dept requesting donations.  Seemed legit and am familiar with the dept but this is a bad way among all the scammer to try and get donations.

Organizations that cold call to "collect" for the police do so because stumping for a non-profit means they're not calling illegally to folks on the do not call list(like that matters).  But, if you check the actual amount of money forwarded to the police, it usually amounts to less than 10-20%, which is abysmal.  Non-criminal, real charities manage to get at least 70-80% or more to their desired beneficiaries.

Getting several calls a day from this number - it rings but no one answers...
