Got a call from the number (740-661-1914) and when I picked up he said he was calling in response to request for jobs I had filled out online (which I didn't do) and I then told him I hadn't and he then proceeded to tell me that I qualified for a free college scholarship and asked me what field I'd like to persue? I hung up immediately after he said that! I would just like to know who it was and whether or not it was a scam or legit because I'm leaning more toward a scam! If anyone has recieved a similar call or knows any information related to this number please let me know!

I get these calls all the time. I just hang up. How do they get around the do not call registry? Scam.

In your question is the answer. They are scammers, liars and thieves and so they do not care about the DNC. The scam may originate in India or Pakistan in some cases, so breaking the Do Not Call laws has no consequences.
