The area code is for rural southeast Ohio, where there is nothing other than Ohio University, so I would not be surprised to find out that the call was some alumni/ae call asking for a donation, especially since the state government has slashed state college and university budgets. This is part of a downward trend for the state with the gerrymandered districts locking up democracy for Tea Partiers, but that's another sad tale of plutocratic greed, throwing economic burdens on working families.
