Says they are with DTE Energy. They say its urgent and you must call 877-806-1202 during business hours. (8am-5pm)
Automated recording. Sounds like a scam. I personally have no DTE account at present. Be careful out there.

Scam - Phishing attempt!
They called twice, asking to talk to Accounts Payable for the Condo Association I live in (I'm past President, past Treasurer), pretending to be from DTE Energy, regarding my late bill payment. Only 2 serious problems with that:
- they asked for my tax id right-away, to pull up my account ... DTE already has that, so why ask for it? And if THEY called my number, wouldn't they already have that information??? How else would they have gotten my telephone number?
- my bills are on auto-deduct from my account and have been coming out every month ( I am the one who actually set that up and have been following it every month). No way I would've been late.

The official DTE Energy does NOT recognize that toll-free number, or the local number, as theirs.

This number has tried calling the office a few times. My boss has answered it in the past, and I had presumed it might be legitimate.

The number called again this morning with a recorded message looking for someone. However, the spot where a recorded name should be present was nothing but silence. I did press 1 to speak to someone, and a guy asked who I was. Not wanting to give my real information, not to mention DTE should already know to whom they're speaking,  I asked what the call was regarding. He asked to speak to "Lawrence" (I couldn't make out the last name, but the name itself was _not_ associated with our office). I told him there was no such person at this number, and he claimed that he'd update his information.

I'm very suspicious that this is either an attempt to phish personal information or a call where they claim if you don't pay a supposed non-existent past-due balance, they will shut your service off on the spot. As such, I'd recommend not giving any personal information to this caller. Come Monday, I may contact DTE's customer service number and see if this call was legitimate or not.

I'm going to label this call a prank call since it was somebody asking for a wrong person.

They called again after hours and left a message on our answering machine. This time, though, they want us to call the 877-806-1202 number instead of pressing a number to be connected with a live person.
