Left message on my company machine as we do not answer unrecognized numbers. We receive a very high percentage of telemarketing and scam calls. Caller states: "John, you need to call Mark Amato at 732 640 1544." A quick web search brings several complaints that Amato is a scammer masquerading as a police officer or someone soliciting for a police organization. One report even had him as a pill popping drug addict. Suffice to say that judging by the tone of the voice on our voicemail, I do not believe that those descriptions are far off.

Calls every day and doesn't take no for an answer

Yup, Mark Amato, claiming it's a "courtesy call" from the township, but doesn't say what township. Never, EVER, donate to any so-called police charity that calls like this. Even if they ARE legit - which this guy isn't - they spend the majority of the donation on overhead, and very little goes to the actual po-po. Donate in person to your local PBA or FOP. They'll use the money for the right things, and give you a sticker, too! Mark Amato is just a scam artist with a very hard sell.
