Person called and said they called re: my computer.  Told them we don't have one, however, they insisted we did and to turn it on.  Hung up after getting the name and number.

Same story as above, although I do have a computer. A fairly obvious scam due to the pushy nature of the caller. He could barely speak English, but claimed to be from "Computer Windows Center" of Flushing NY. When I called thos number back it was answered without giving any company name.

He told me this was a government tax company and to go to my computer so he could help me fix the errors showing up. I asked for his number which he gave me. Did not call him, of course. Another scam.

Same as some of the other posters here - a lady identifying herself as "Irene" (who had a foreign accent) said she was calling about an issue with my mom's computer.  She claimed to be with Easytech, a service center for Microsoft, located in Flushing, NY.  She did NOT volunteer the company name right away, I had to ask specifically for that information.  I asked if she was able to identify which computer she was talking about, and she said she could not without me turning the computer on and calling them back so they could run diagnostics and fix it (ha!).  She claimed the computer with issues had been tracked down via its IP address.  Didn't seem legit to me.

Received a call from the 732-543-7671 and woman who was calling identified herself as "Irene".  She was speaking better English than the man who called yesterday, rushed through the "intro information" very quickly in South Asian accented English.  I hung up on him.  I told Irene I was about to walk out the door and to give me her number so I could call her back when it was convenient for me.  Would a major computer company like Microsoft be calling via phone??  I don't think so.
