Just curious, did you ever find out what ths was? I got a call from them today and they said that a complaint had been filed against my name and social securtiy #.

He just called me too.  He said his name was Mark Sanderson.  Wanted me to verify last 4 of my SSN or last 4 of my birthdate.  I told him I don't verify that information over the phone.  He said well obviously I already have all that so what difference does it make?  I told him to mail me a written verification of the debt.  He said oh you're one of those people huh?  I said excuse me?  He said a professional debtor.  I said if you were a professional debt collector you'd know that it's my right to get written verification of a debt.  I'll see if it shows up.  He used to call from an 800 number that left this 724 number.  If I remember correctly, he's a scam payday loan collector.

I received a call too. Mine was from a Brian Wilson. I requested the debt in writing also. He said they wouldn't mail anything that I would get the papers when the sheriff showed up at my door to arrest me in front of everyone and drag my slimmy [***] to jail. Real professional. I called the the police dept in the city they called from but the police were not aware of any business that would do that. I gave them the number that they called me from and the names of the people I talked to. I also called my attorney to give them the number. I have since changed my number and alerted the police in my area due to the scam. Call your local attorney general and report the number and call your local police department.

This debt collector is a scam.  Called them back.  Wouldn't tell me who the person was representing.  Demanded payment from a old pay day loan that was paid off years ago thru third party.  They gave me toll free fax # to send receipt and sent receipt.  Got rude callback stating receipt was not right account # when I only owed originally one payday loan from company they claimed I still owed money to.  Possibly they had a made up account number to try and scam me thinking there was two seperate account #"s when there really was only one account that was already paid

They even threatened to send out locators to serve papers
