These statements are all too familiar. I just received the exact same call regarding the exact same scenario pertaining to a returned item from my bank back in 2002. I did however have a check from back then although it must just take these people a couple of strokes on a keyboard to access these things. The lady's name, supposedly who I had talked with was Julie Walker. It was the exact same phone number as well. I actually gave a lady my debit card number and made a payment arrangement with her although after spotting everyone's comments on this web site I called my bank and cancelled out my card. A person try's to do the right thing and pay off an old debt and it turns out to be a grip of people trying to steal from us. Right before Christmas too no less. These people are sick.

got a similar message voicemail stating i had a returned item from my bank oddly enough i did have a bounced check though i called my bank and they stated all is well whatever you do do not give out your personal identification.

This is the second call I've gotten about a returned check from my bank and they say I have 48 hours to respond or they will file with my county. I do not, nor have I ever had a check returned. If I did, my bank would cover it anyway and send me a notice. I wish they'd go away. The way I see it, if there really was a issue I should have received some sort of notice in the mail, which I have not, no returned checks according to the bank, so this is not legit as far as my personal situation. This man or voicemail identified themselves as representing Portfolio Consulting Group.

I got a call fromt his company today also saying they are a portfolio consulting group saying I hve a returned check and continued to say I will be turned over to my county if not taken care of with/in 48 hours. I do not have any returned checks my bank would tell me if I did. Im on the do not call list also. so im not sure what this is.. I was so sick after getting this call and checked my bank. Im all good...whew...how to stop these people is beyond me...
