Just came home to a message saying they were from portfolio mediation group. Woman said her name was Erica Jones

Called my work said they were a mediation company. I askes for a copy of my file n they're physical address. Click.  Called back n asked for this info again click. Called again n asked when the original debt was charged off, they said 2008. Asked for the amount....click.
By lae tjey have to provide you with amount of the debt original charge off date and the collection/mediation agency's address. I called JC Penny and the fates were way different. This is a scam company pretending to represent real companies.

just received a letter in the mail saying I owed $1500.00 ,I called them and they said it was from a pay day loan -II had one 3years ago which i paid and was a scam to begin with that is what started this [***]-the woman I just spoke with was extremely ruid and told me good luck I told them to go to hell

I found out today this company is a debt aquisition company hence a debt collector. Depending on your states statute of limitations they would fall under the unwritten contract statute of limitations since the original contract was with someone else not this company, in Iowa its 5 years. They tried telling me they filed a lawsuit but I checked my states case look up and they haven't.
